Shadow the Hedgehog (currently voiced by Kirk Tornton) is a black and red hedgehog and is Sonic's rival. Shadow was created by a Gerald Robotnik to be the "Ultimate Life Form" in order to cure Maria Robotnik's illness.

- In the Thunderbolts Adventure Series, Shadow is Courtney's Master who is teaching her how to use Chaos Control. Courtney also reminds him of his old friend; Maria Robotnix.
