Thorin Oakenshield (performed by Richard Armitage ) is the prince and later king of Erebor, He's the son of King Thrain, son of Thror, his grandfather. After Smaug the Dragon took Erebor from the Dwarves, Thorin hold a grudge on the Elves cause they refused to help.Years later, Thorin along with 12 other Dwarves, Dwalin, Balin, his nephews Fili and Kili, Dori, Nori, Ori, Owin, Gloin, Bifur, Bofur, and Bombur, meet the Hobbit Bilbo Baggins to help them on their quest to retake Erebor from Smaug. Along the way, Thorin face his old enemy, Azog the Defiler, who he defeated in the Battle of Moria years ago. Once they retake Erebor, Thorin became mad with greed like his grandfather and refused to keep his promise to the people of Lake-Town and refuse to pay the Elves what is theirs. However, he over-came his greed and fight along side the Elves and Men in the Battle of Five Armies. However, Thorin along with Fili and Kili where killed in the battle.
